Faba Bean Variety Trial
J.A. Torrion and Amanda Shine
Objective:
To evaluate the performance of selected faba beans in northwestern Montana.
Summary:
The trial was planted at the end of April under rainfed conditions. After emergence, plants began showing signs of leaf curling with browning around the edges. Growth was stunted. Tissue testing did not reveal residual chemical (2,4-D and Bromoxynil) suspected for the stunted growth, based on previous chemical application history. With stunting and eventual tissue death, this trial was terminated.
