Objective:

To evaluate the effect of planting date and maturity group on soybean yields in northwestern Montana.

Summary:

Soybeans were planted on three different dates from the end of April to the end of May.  After emergence, plants began showing signs of leaf curling with browning around the edges.  Tissue testing did not reveal residual chemical (2,4-D and Bromoxynil) that may have been responsible for the damage, based on previous chemical application history.  Due to stunted growth and eventual tissue death, this study was terminated.
